Battery Pack

Thanks to a generous donation from Tesla Motors, INSTAR now has thousands of Lithium Ion batteries to work with. These batteries are comparable to those found on Tesla’s Roadster.These cells are difficult to design a pack around and assemble, however, so currently we are using two packs containing Lithium Iron Phosphate Cells on our test platform. These battery packs consist of six batteries each and are made primarily from G10, a glass reinforced epoxy, and aluminum. Two pull handles sit atop each pack for ease of handling.
